“Grandmother Devastated as Thieves Steal Christmas Presents”

A grandmother in Edinburgh, Julia Kelly, was devastated when thieves broke into her home and stole Christmas presents she had bought for her family. The incident occurred on November 29 when a man and woman tricked their way into her residence on Drummond Street. The woman asked to use the restroom, providing an opportunity for the man to steal Julia’s belongings.

The thieves took off with Julia’s purse containing £100 in cash, along with Christmas gifts displayed on her sofa, including Clinique products and a diamante necklace. Julia’s granddaughter, Safia, expressed her shock and disappointment at the incident, highlighting the sentimental value of the stolen items.

Julia described the culprits as having grey hair and being around five foot three in height. The woman wore a red puffer jacket and blue jeans, while the man was seen in a brown jacket with black and grey jogging bottoms. Police Scotland confirmed receiving reports of the theft and stated that investigations are underway.

Following the distressing event, Safia mentioned that the family is providing support to Julia, who remains resilient but shaken inside. Efforts are being made to help her cope with the aftermath of the burglary.
