Sky TV customers are in for a treat as some have received a complimentary upgrade to include full access to the Disney+ subscription service. The free upgrade is part of the newly updated Sky Ultimate plan, offering access to popular content from Pixar, Star Wars, Disney, and Marvel at no extra cost.
The enhanced package doesn’t stop at Disney+, as Sky will soon introduce HBO Max Basic and Hayu to its lineup. The integration of Disney+ content across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms will allow for a seamless viewing experience with features like Continue Watching, search, and voice control.
In addition to these benefits, Sky Cinema subscribers will now have access to a dedicated Disney+ Cinema channel. For those not currently subscribed to Sky, the new Sky Ultimate package is open to all UK households starting at £24 per month.
The £24 plan includes Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching on March 26 in the UK & Ireland), Hayu (full access from July), and over 130 Sky channels. Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, emphasized the goal of providing a unified viewing experience by bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under one subscription.
Existing customers will receive access to the expanded lineup at no extra cost, with NOW Entertainment users gaining access to HBO Max within the app without additional charges. Sky’s aim with these changes is to simplify streaming and offer a more integrated viewing experience for its users.
