Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices as the UK TV platform has initiated an update affecting the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has announced that some broadcasters are implementing changes this week, necessitating a retune to ensure access to updated channels and guide information.
The recent updates include the rebranding of three channels. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, featuring music from previous decades and iconic programs like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.
In addition to these rebrands, a new channel named That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although detailed program listings are not yet widely available, more information is expected soon.
Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of the continuous adjustments made by broadcasters to ensure diverse and current content offerings. Users are encouraged to check their TV planners for these changes. If updates are not visible, a retune can be performed by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on the remote
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option
3. Enter the PIN if prompted (typically 1234 or 0000)
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels
6. The device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, the recent changes are noteworthy, prompting users to retune their devices promptly to ensure uninterrupted viewing experience.
