“Fort Stewart Lockdown Lifted After Disturbance”

There were reports of an individual causing alarm at an army base, prompting authorities to advise people to remain indoors. The Hinesville Police Department had confirmed a lockdown at Fort Stewart in Georgia due to the presence of the individual in a residential area. Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield communicated a shelter-in-place order, urging individuals to stay indoors while law enforcement addressed the situation.

Shortly after, the military base announced the lifting of the shelter-in-place directive but advised caution in the Bryan Village area due to an ongoing incident. Fort Stewart officials later specified that the incident was confined to Ardennes Court on the base and was under control. Authorities responded to a distressed soldier situation around 4:38 pm local time. It was clarified that despite initial reports, there was no actual shooting involved.
