Thousands of music enthusiasts flocked to Great Park in Irvine, California, last weekend to enjoy live performances by their favorite artists at a groundbreaking event supporting women’s health, reproductive rights, and the fight against gender-based violence.
The Daisy Chain Fields charity festival, organized by singer Olivia Rodrigo, drew inspiration from the iconic 1990s Lilith Fair with an all-female lineup. The event showcased a mix of established and emerging stars, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill, and Garbage.
Before the festival kicked off, Rodrigo revealed that they had successfully raised $10 million for ten non-profit partners such as Planned Parenthood and the Black Mamas Matter Alliance. This amount was later matched by a generous contribution from Melinda French Gates, totaling $20 million.
Rodrigo’s vision for the festival, announced in June, highlighted the commitment to supporting organizations advocating for women and girls. The festival featured special performances, including a rendition of “Landslide” with Stevie Nicks and a surprise appearance by Alanis Morissette singing “Ironic” with a twist in the lyrics.
