Nathan Fielder, the Vancouver-born comedian, writer, and director, has unveiled a teaser for his upcoming project following the latest season of “The Rehearsal.” This project is a documentary focusing on the notorious Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes, who was convicted of fraud in 2022. Titled “You Can See Everything,” the film, created in collaboration with filmmaker Lance Oppenheim, delves into the period leading to Holmes’s imprisonment in 2023.
Lance Oppenheim, known for works like “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020), has partnered with Fielder on this intriguing documentary. Fielder, renowned for his show “Nathan For You,” gained popularity by offering eccentric business advice on Comedy Central. His comedic brilliance was also showcased in field segments like “Nathan On Your Side” on CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes.”
“You Can See Everything” is set to be distributed by the popular Gen Z platform A24, known for its distinctive visual style and eerie ambiance. The trailer features a captivating one-minute exchange between Holmes and Fielder, highlighting a tense moment where Holmes defends herself, met with Fielder’s skepticism.
The teaser was revealed alongside a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, garnering enthusiastic reactions from critics. Director Daniel Howat described the documentary as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year, praising its unique narrative structure.
This project draws parallels to Fielder’s past interviews, such as the memorable encounter with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix. The documentary is scheduled for a theatrical release next month, promising an engaging exploration of Holmes’s controversial story.
