Six Tower air fryer models are being recalled due to concerns about potential overheating and fire hazards. These affected products were distributed by various retailers such as Argos, B&M, DID, Lidl, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Tesco, and the Tower Housewares website, with manufacturing dates ranging from January 2022 to April 2023.
Consumers are urged not to use these products if purchased, and they can request a refund or replacement through the Tower Housewares website. The model number can be found on the appliance rating label at the fryer’s base.
Tower Housewares emphasized safety as their top priority, highlighting a voluntary recall to uphold safety and quality standards for the identified air fryer models. The Office for Product Safety and Standards warned of fire risks due to potential overheating and ignition issues, not meeting the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 requirements.
In a separate safety recall incident, Citroen C3 and DS3 models have been flagged for faulty Takata airbag systems, following a fatal injury linked to a Citroen C3 airbag incident in France. Stellantis, the parent company of Citroen, confirmed the removal of around 82,000 affected vehicles in France, estimating approximately 120,000 impacted drivers in the UK.
Stellantis UK pledged swift and responsible action, mobilizing its network to address the airbag safety concern promptly. The company assured customers of a fast and secure resolution to the issue.
