“Ribble Valley Offers Up to £500 Cost of Living Vouchers”

Struggling households in Ribble Valley are encouraged to apply for cost of living vouchers valued at up to £500 this summer. The Ribble Valley Borough Council is overseeing the distribution of these vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund, which is a financial allocation given to local councils by the central government. Eligible households with a total yearly income below £35,000 can receive food vouchers from the council.

Individuals living alone can receive a £200 voucher, while households with two or more adults can get £300. Families with children are eligible for a higher amount of £500. The council’s aim is to support residents facing the ongoing cost of living challenges.

To access this assistance, residents can apply through the Ribble Valley Borough Council website until July 11, 2025, or until the funding is depleted. Notably, households that previously received vouchers between October 2024 and March 2025 are not eligible for the current program. However, those who received help between April 2024 and September 2024 can apply for further aid after October 2025.

For non-Ribble Valley residents, seeking support from their local councils through the Household Support Fund is recommended. For instance, the City of Doncaster Council is aiding households receiving specific benefits like Universal Credit and free school meals. Similarly, Hull City Council is offering financial assistance to pensioner households, while low-income families can benefit from school uniform grants and food vouchers during school breaks.

In Hartlepool, households with children aged between two and 19 who qualify for free school meals are eligible for £100 food vouchers. Pensioner households receiving council tax support will also receive £100 in either bank payments or food vouchers this year. It is essential to explore the support available through local councils to alleviate financial burdens during these challenging times.
