“Fake ‘American Queen’ Vanity Fair Cover Sparks Controversy”

America’s First Lady, Melania Trump, is facing a wave of ridicule this week as a fake Vanity Fair cover featuring her circulates on social media. The fabricated cover portrays Mrs. Trump wearing a crown, labeled as “The American Queen” and praised as the “most mysterious First Lady.” The cover hints at an article about her “Silent Revolution” with the tagline: “Fashion, power & the art of staying silent.”

Upon the spread of the image online, supporters of the MAGA movement quickly praised it, overlooking the satire and the fact that it was digitally created. Referring to Melania as America’s Queen was seen as a jab at anti-Trump protesters who had rallied against the concept of monarchy in the country.

Despite the enthusiasm from MAGA supporters, it was revealed that the cover was a hoax, as Melania had declined the offer to feature on Vanity Fair’s cover. Sources indicated that she dismissed the proposal in July, emphasizing that her duties as First Lady took precedence over photo shoots.

The rejection came amidst threats from Vanity Fair staff to resign if Melania graced the cover. The magazine’s global editorial director attempted to persuade her, but the backlash from employees was so severe that many vowed to quit on the spot.

In a twist of events, California Governor Gavin Newsom joined the fray by releasing his own mocked-up cover, mimicking Melania’s pose and wearing a crown, titled “The American King, Gavin Newsom’s Vocal Revolution.” This move was a playful dig at the initial fake cover.

Newsom’s team shared the image on social media, playfully imitating Donald Trump’s style with a caption that humorously accepted the “honor.” This incident adds to the ongoing banter between Newsom and the Trump family, with Newsom gaining popularity for his satirical take on the President’s social media presence.

Newsom is currently leading among Democratic primary voters for the 2028 presidential election, further solidifying his position in the political landscape.
