“Eubank Jr eyes November rematch with Benn”

Chris Eubank Jr is aiming for a November rematch with Conor Benn after the initial plans for a September 20 fight were postponed. The blame game between Eddie Hearn and Eubank Jr came into the spotlight this week, but Eubank Jr clarified that he did not pull out of the clash; he simply sought more time to prepare for a rerun of their April bout, which he won on points.

Despite being contractually obligated to a rematch under the same conditions, Eubank Jr is not shying away from the fight. He expressed concerns about his readiness for the September date and is in discussions with Saudi boxing influencer Turki Alalshikh to potentially reschedule the match for November in either London or the Middle East.

While Eubank Jr pushes for a London venue, negotiations with Tottenham are ongoing, considering the weather conditions in November. In contrast, Benn is eager to move on from the rematch, planning to return to welterweight to pursue a world title opportunity.

Separately, promoter Eddie Hearn hinted at a potential matchup between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul, a proposition that Alalshikh seems keen to materialize. However, doubts loom over the feasibility of the fight, given Paul’s limited boxing experience primarily in exhibition bouts.

Hearn’s discussions with Paul’s team suggest a possibility of the fight happening to keep Joshua occupied until his anticipated clash with Tyson Fury down the line. Both fighters are expected to take on other opponents before potentially facing each other in the future.

In the heavyweight scene, Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are set to vie for the undisputed championship on July 19. Fans can watch the event on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or access it for free with a DAZN Annual plan.

Looking ahead, Hearn anticipates a busy schedule for Joshua leading up to a potential showdown with Fury, projecting separate fights for both boxers before a possible meeting in 2026.
