Amazon has unveiled two new e-readers with color displays, offering a refreshing change from the traditional black and white e-ink screens. These new devices, the Kindle Colorsoft and the Colorsoft Kids Edition, complement the existing Colorsoft Signature Edition Kindle.
The Kindle Colorsoft features 16GB of storage, rapid page turns, an adjustable warm light, extended battery life, and full access to the Kindle bookstore. While it may not have all the features of the Signature Edition, such as extra storage and wireless charging, it comes at a more affordable price point.
Priced at £239.99, the standard Colorsoft Kindle is a budget-friendly option compared to the Signature Edition priced at £269.99. Customers can also avail of a 20% discount by trading in their old devices and receive three free months of Kindle Unlimited with their purchase.
In addition, Amazon has introduced the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Kids Edition priced at £259. This version includes 12 months of Amazon Kids+, a kid-friendly cover, and a 2-year worry-free guarantee. Amazon Kids+ provides access to a vast library of books and audiobooks for children, typically priced at £4.99 per month.
The Colorsoft Kids Edition offers a colorful display, water-resistant design, built-in light for nighttime reading, and aims to encourage young readers to engage more with books. Amazon hopes that the introduction of color will enhance the reading experience for children, citing that kids spend an average of 45 minutes daily reading on their Kindles.
