“Amazon’s Freevee App to Shut Down, Content Moving to Prime Video”

Users of Fire TV Stick will soon lose access to the Freevee app, as Amazon had previously announced the shutdown. The service will cease to operate at the end of August, affecting viewers on iOS and Android devices as well.

Freevee, Amazon’s ad-supported platform offering free movies, TV shows, and live broadcasts, is currently home to popular shows like Jury Duty and Alex Rider. However, starting September 1, 2025, these shows will transition to Amazon’s Prime Video app. Users will need to download Prime Video and log in with their Amazon account to continue enjoying the content, some of which may require a Prime subscription or one-time payment.

In a move to streamline its services, Freevee users are being encouraged to switch to Prime Video, which will become the exclusive home for Freevee content. The Freevee app will remain accessible until August 2025, after which Prime Video will be the only option for viewing the content.

Existing Prime Video subscribers will find it more convenient to access all Amazon content in a single app, eliminating the need to navigate between Freevee and Prime Video separately.
