Apple has introduced a new software update designed to enhance creativity among users. The tech giant has unveiled Creative Studio, a platform that grants MacBook and iPad owners access to premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service provides full access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop. Upon its launch later this month, Apple users can subscribe to the service for £12.99 per month or £129 per year, offering a cost-effective solution considering the bundled software.
Individual purchases of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro can cost £300 and £200, respectively, on the App Store. By offering these tools through a subscription model, Apple aims to broaden accessibility to a wider audience.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, emphasized the value of Apple Creator Studio in empowering creators across various disciplines to hone their skills with powerful tools for video editing, music production, creative imaging, and visual productivity. The subscription includes advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.
In addition to the core software, users will gain access to extra features within Creative Studio, such as MainStage, which transforms a Mac into a versatile musical instrument or voice processor. Motion, another included tool, enables the creation of cinematic 2D and 3D effects with innovative features like Magnetic Mask for precise object isolation without a green screen.
Subscribers will also receive enhancements to Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, along with Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac later in the year. While these apps will remain free, Creative Studio subscribers will benefit from improved features tailored to their needs.
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial for all users. Customers purchasing a MacBook or iPad will enjoy a three-month trial period. Additionally, Apple offers discounted rates for university students, pricing the software bundle at £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year.
The initiative reflects Apple’s commitment to providing a flexible and accessible platform for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to explore their creative passions effectively.
