A prominent online beauty retailer is reportedly considering a sale as advisors have been engaged to assess the business. Beauty Bay, established in 1999 by brothers Arron and David Gabbie in Manchester, offers a wide range of products from over 200 brands, including Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its own line.
According to a recent report by Sky News, Beauty Bay is exploring various options to secure new funding, potentially leading to a complete sale of the company. Interpath, an advisory firm, is said to be collaborating with Beauty Bay on this endeavor.
Employing a staff of 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has caught the attention of the Mirror, who has reached out to the company for comments. In other news, Malin + Goetz, a beauty brand, has entered administration, resulting in the closure of its seven stores in London and affecting over 70 jobs. Online orders for Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, with a message on their website indicating a brief pause in operations.
Customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK. A spokesperson for Malin+Goetz mentioned that after a thorough review of the business, the decision to place the UK operations into administration was made due to the lack of viable alternatives.
While the website is expected to resume operations after a short maintenance period, the exact duration remains uncertain. Initially launched in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz began with six products catering to all skin types and has since expanded its offerings to include fragrance, body care, and various beauty categories.
