“Christian Horner Considered for Aston Martin Role”

Christian Horner is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Andy Cowell at Aston Martin, with rumors swirling that the 56-year-old could be on the verge of losing his position following the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Horner, the former head of Red Bull, has been actively seeking a return to Formula 1 since departing in July.

After a turbulent Las Vegas GP, RacingNews365 indicated that Cowell’s tenure at Aston Martin was in jeopardy due to the team’s current struggles in the Constructors’ Championship standings, where they sit in seventh place, just eight points ahead of Sauber in ninth. The report suggested that Andreas Seidl, a former McLaren and Sauber figure, was the frontrunner to take over the role.

Nonetheless, according to BBC Sport, Horner is also a contender to succeed Cowell. The renowned ex-Red Bull team principal has been linked to various teams since his exit from the paddock, including Ferrari, Haas, and Alpine, but this opportunity with Aston Martin could be his most significant since stepping away.

Speculation about Horner potentially joining Aston Martin surfaced prior to the Singapore Grand Prix, but Cowell promptly dismissed these rumors, asserting that his team had no interest in the 52-year-old.

“If Horner were to return to the grid with Aston Martin, it would lead to a reunion with his rival Zak Brown, who criticized the former Red Bull chief before the Las Vegas triple-header,” McLaren Racing CEO expressed to The Telegraph.

While Aston Martin faced uncertainties, Red Bull had a moment of triumph in Las Vegas as Max Verstappen kept his title hopes alive with a victory. However, McLaren faced disappointment as both their cars were disqualified post-race, impacting the standings as the championship battle intensifies heading into the next race in Qatar.
