Luke Littler acknowledges that managing his busy schedule has been a significant challenge amidst his rapid ascent in the world of darts. The talented player recently secured another major title by clinching his first World Matchplay victory, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Having triumphed over James Wade with a score of 18-13 in the final, Littler completed darts’ prestigious Triple Crown, which also includes the World Championship and the Premier League. Since bursting onto the scene at the 2023/24 World Championship as a 16-year-old, the 18-year-old has amassed an impressive collection of titles, including the Grand Slam of Darts and the UK Open.
Littler, who has already participated in two successful Premier League campaigns, faces immense pressure due to the demanding schedule that often precedes European Tour events. To alleviate some of the strain, he strategically opts to skip certain tournaments.
“In order to manage the rigorous schedule, I occasionally withdraw from tournaments to allow for much-needed rest days, especially during the Premier League season,” Littler shared exclusively with Mirror Sport. Planning ahead and prioritizing self-care are crucial elements in navigating the demanding competition calendar effectively.
Despite his numerous accomplishments in the past 18 months, Littler finds little time for reflection amidst his packed schedule, including media engagements and promotional commitments. As he prepares for upcoming World Series events in Australia and New Zealand, Littler remains focused on staying present and embracing the challenges ahead.
Looking ahead, Littler aims to secure victories in key tournaments such as the World Grand Prix, European Championship, and Players Championships Finals before the expanded World Championship commences in December. The ambitious player is determined to excel in these majors and build upon his success.
Teaming up with KP for the ‘Nuts for Darts’ campaign, Littler is excited to offer one lucky pub the opportunity to host an event with the world champion. Encouraging pub owners to participate in the campaign, Littler expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative and the chance to engage with fans in a unique setting.
As part of the ‘Nuts for Darts’ campaign, KP Nuts is running a promotion where a selected pub can win an appearance from Luke Littler. Pub owners are encouraged to enter the contest by picking up promotional pub cards starting from August 11th.
