“Eamonn Holmes Considers Return to Northern Ireland Amid Tax Dispute”

Eamonn Holmes is contemplating a move back to Northern Ireland from England due to an ongoing tax dispute. The experienced broadcaster expressed feeling devastated by the conflict with the HMRC, leading to the sale of two properties and a remaining debt of £250,000. Apart from financial troubles, the 65-year-old also encountered a recent facial injury and reportedly faced challenges in his new relationship.

Close associates of Eamonn, who presently hosts a morning show on GB News, revealed that he appears to be visibly overwhelmed and frequently in a negative mood due to the increasing stress he is under. Concerned friends have suggested that the father of four should return to Northern Ireland, his place of origin, to find solace and success there.

Early in his career, Eamonn worked on various programs in Northern Ireland, including for Ulster Television, where he achieved notable success. However, a friend remarked that despite the potential for a more peaceful life in Northern Ireland, Eamonn seems reluctant to leave the fame and opportunities in England, painting a somber picture of the situation.

Recently, Eamonn disclosed that he still owes £250,000 to the HMRC, stemming from his time as a freelancer on Sky’s Sunrise morning show, a role he held for 11 years until 2016. While Eamonn maintains he operated as a freelancer, the HMRC disputes this claim, resulting in significant financial strain for him.

The broadcaster expressed his frustration, stating that the HMRC demanded back taxes and national insurance contributions for a decade, causing significant financial distress during a vulnerable period in his life. Consequently, Eamonn had to part ways with his properties in Belfast and Portugal, yet the financial burden remains unresolved.

Despite his public struggles, individuals close to Eamonn voiced worries about the challenges he is facing. Describing a stark contrast between his on-screen persona and off-screen reality, sources highlighted his deteriorating mood and the impact it has on those working with him. Eamonn’s extensive career spans roles at GB News, Sky News, ITV, BBC, and other prominent organizations, solidifying his status as a household name since the late 1970s. His separation from his former wife Ruth Langsford followed their departure from This Morning, where they were fixtures on Friday shows, culminating in the end of their on-screen partnership.
