“EDF Sunday Saver: Earn Free Electricity for Shifting Usage”

EDF has reintroduced its Sunday Saver challenge for February, offering customers free electricity on Sundays if they reduce their electricity usage during weekday peak hours from 4pm to 7pm. Participants can earn between four and 16 hours of free electricity the following Sunday for shifting their consumption patterns. EDF customers with smart meters can enroll in the challenge until February 1. The energy company has reported that more than 260,000 households have benefited from over 17 million free hours of electricity through the Sunday Saver initiative, resulting in £5.2 million in savings on bills.

Jon Perks, EDF’s Sales & Marketing Director, highlighted the significance of the Sunday Saver program during the winter season, providing customers with a practical way to reduce costs and support a more sustainable electricity grid. Participants can monitor their progress through the Energy Hub platform, allowing them to identify opportunities for energy savings in their homes and reduce their carbon footprint. Additionally, EDF is offering a £50 credit to new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle tariffs within the next month. These EV tariffs, including GoElectric, Pod Point EV Exclusive, Evolve, and Pod Point Plug & Power, offer five hours of discounted electricity every night from 12am to 5am for both home and vehicle charging. Customers can track their Sunday Saver challenge progress through the Energy Hub via MyAccount, providing a personalized view of their household’s energy consumption.
