“Edinburgh Airport Flights Grounded by IT Glitch”

Edinburgh Airport experienced a halt in all flights this morning due to a significant IT problem. The airport made an announcement on social media explaining that no flights were operating because of an issue with their air traffic control provider.

Although departures and arrivals resumed at 10:40 am, several flights had to be canceled. Despite the situation being resolved, some flights remain canceled. The airport’s live information page lists the affected flights.

Flights have since resumed departing from Edinburgh Airport, with several already en route to destinations such as Bergamo, Wroclaw, Antalya, and Kirkwall. However, a few flights were still canceled.

Incoming flights are expected to resume soon at Edinburgh Airport, with scheduled arrivals within the next hour. However, some flights have been completely canceled or diverted due to the earlier disruptions.

Passengers are advised to verify their flight status directly with their airline for any updates. The airport expressed gratitude for passengers’ patience and understanding during the incident.

Clarity, a business travel company, warned that flight disruptions may persist even after the IT issue is resolved as airlines work through residual delays. They advised travelers using Edinburgh Airport to confirm their flight statuses beforehand and allow extra time for airport procedures.

According to FlightRadar data, arrivals at Edinburgh Airport will be suspended for several hours. Eurocontrol reported that arrivals were not available between 9 am and 2 pm due to ATC equipment system problems.

Edinburgh Airport has not provided a specific timeframe for full flight operations to resume but assured that teams are actively addressing the issue and will provide updates as they become available.
