A tragic incident involving a collision between a car and a tractor in Cornwall has claimed the life of an elderly woman. The accident occurred on the A392 at White Acres near Newquay, prompting swift response from emergency services just before 10am on Wednesday.
The local woman involved in the crash, caught between a Ford Fiesta and a JCB tractor, was airlifted to Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. Fire crews from Newquay and Bodmin conducted a challenging rescue operation, utilizing specialized equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage.
Following a temporary closure of the A392, the site was eventually cleared, and the road reopened by 2:15pm. Collision investigators assessed the scene and removed the vehicles involved. A spokesperson from the Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the unfortunate news, stating, “We have received reports of the passing of a woman who sustained severe injuries in a recent road collision near Newquay. Regrettably, she passed away on Thursday.”
