Vienna, Austria’s city center was paralyzed as emergency services converged near the “Hohes Haus” (High House) following the security alert. Reports indicated that the threat was communicated to law enforcement via a phone call.
Law enforcement is currently conducting an inquiry, with the caller already identified. The situation has led to traffic disruptions in central Vienna, with pedestrians barred from accessing the area around the parliament building this morning.
Although police are still conducting a search, a spokesperson assured local media that there is no imminent danger to the public. The individual who contacted authorities at around 10 a.m. was reportedly known to law enforcement beforehand.

In response to a reported “family dispute,” the street where the fire broke out was sealed off as emergency services rushed to contain the situation. Authorities arrived at the scene early in the morning to find flames engulfing the residential structure, accompanied by loud noises.
The residence was booby-trapped, and a 57-year-old male is believed to have initiated the blaze. His remains were discovered near a nearby lake, carrying a backpack allegedly containing an “explosive device.”
Following the recovery of a letter from the suspect containing a vague bomb threat related to the Oktoberfest, law enforcement temporarily suspended the annual beer festival.
