“Father Wanted in Daughters’ Murder: Bones Found in Manhunt”

A manhunt for a father suspected of murdering his three daughters has led to the discovery of bones currently undergoing identification. Authorities have been searching for ex-soldier Travis Decker for nearly three months in the mountains of Washington state following the tragic deaths of his three children. Despite no confirmed evidence of his whereabouts or status, the 33-year-old has been wanted since June 2 when his truck and the bodies of Paityn Decker, nine, Evelyn Decker, eight, and Olivia Decker, five, were found at a campground outside Leavenworth.

The distressing find occurred three days after Decker failed to return the girls to their mother’s home in Wenatchee, located about 100 miles east of Seattle, after a scheduled visit. The girls were discovered near Decker’s white pick-up truck in a secluded area of Rock Island Campground, where an autopsy revealed they died from asphyxiation. Currently, an examination is underway on bones found at the campground to determine if they are human remains and potentially belonging to Decker.

Sheriff Mike Morrison stated that the bones were uncovered during a grid search by personnel, and they have been sent to Central Washington University for confirmation on their nature. The FBI is leading the search for Decker, cautioning the public against approaching the former full-time member of the Washington National Guard who transitioned to part-time in 2024.

Deputy Mike McLeod expressed frustration over the ongoing search for Decker, emphasizing the importance of bringing him to justice for the tragic loss of the children. The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office also reiterated their commitment to locating Decker, emphasizing the need to ensure justice for Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker, while highlighting the potential danger Decker poses to the public.
