A significant change is coming to Freeview TV today, bringing both excitement and disappointment to viewers in the UK. Starting June 9, ITVBe will no longer be available on channel 28, making way for the introduction of a new channel called ITV Quiz.
As the name suggests, ITV Quiz will feature a lineup of quiz and game shows around the clock. While specific upcoming content is yet to be announced, a glimpse at the TV guide reveals a schedule packed with popular shows like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Tipping Point, Wheel of Fortune, Lino, Deal or No Deal, and Tenable.
ITV has stated that the launch of ITV Quiz aims to showcase the best of its renowned UK quiz and game shows. Users should automatically see the new channel, but a quick retune may be necessary for those who do not notice the changes.
However, fans of reality TV shows currently on ITVBe, such as Dinner Date, The Only Way Is Essex, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes, will need to shift their viewing habits as many of these programs are moving to ITV2 to accommodate the shift towards game shows on the revamped service.
This transition will affect not only Freeview users but also those utilizing Sky, Freesat, and Virgin Media services.
