Liverpool Teen’s Surgery After Vicious XL Bully Dog Attack

A teenage girl recently underwent surgery following an assault by an alleged XL Bully. Kerris Gledhill, a 16-year-old resident of Liverpool, was walking with her small dachshund in Croxteth Park when a dog charged towards her and attacked. The incident left Kerris deeply distressed as the dog clamped onto her leg and violently shook her. Recounting the terrifying experience, Kerris mentioned encountering the dog in the street before it lunged at her and her dog, causing chaos.

The attack resulted in Kerris sustaining severe injuries, with the dog’s teeth deeply embedded in her leg. The relentless shaking and pulling left her in excruciating pain and fearing for her limb. Frantically calling for help, Kerris managed to break free from the dog’s grasp, but the trauma lingered as she struggled to move and seek assistance. Her mother, Demi-Lee Gledhill, received a distressing call from Kerris, describing the harrowing situation and rushing to her aid.

Demi found her daughter in a critical condition, pale and weak, prompting an urgent trip to the hospital. Kerris, drifting in and out of consciousness, underwent surgery to address the severe wounds inflicted during the attack. Following a recent hospital check-up, Demi provided an update on Kerris’s recovery progress, noting significant damage to her thigh but expressing relief that no infections had occurred. Despite the physical healing, Kerris shared the emotional toll the incident took on her, causing anxiety and fear when encountering dogs.

Merseyside Police confirmed that the dog involved in the attack has been seized for evaluation, with investigations ongoing. The community remains on edge as authorities work to ensure the safety of residents in light of the alarming incident.
