Manchester United’s Antony Faces Uncertain Future

Antony has responded following the breakdown of his move from Manchester United to Real Betis. Real Betis retracted their offer despite reaching an agreement with the Red Devils.

A £21.6 million fee was set for the Brazilian player, who previously had a loan spell with Betis. Additional payments totaling £2.6 million were also included, resulting in United facing a £60 million loss on the former Ajax player. However, United would receive 50% of any future profit Betis made from Antony’s sale.

Challenges arose due to Antony having two years left on his Old Trafford contract with a high salary he did not want to compromise on. Both clubs were unwilling to bridge the financial gap, leading to the offer withdrawal by Betis.

United’s management views Betis’ actions as a negotiation tactic, while Antony seems unperturbed by the situation. On Instagram, Antony shared a photo with friends, captioned with a reflective message.

Antony had a successful loan stint with Betis during the previous winter transfer window, contributing to their UEFA Conference League journey. Upon returning to Manchester, he was sidelined along with other players in the club’s ‘bomb squad’.

With Marcus Rashford moving to Barcelona on loan and a deal in place for Alejandro Garnacho with Chelsea, Antony now faces uncertain prospects as the transfer window nears its end.

Sky has announced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering extensive live match coverage across various leagues. The package will include at least 215 live Premier League games, a substantial increase from previous seasons.
