Max Verstappen’s fortune has surged by nearly £44 million over the past year, elevating his total net worth to just under £230 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has advanced in the ranks of Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to 264th place from last year’s 322nd.
Despite turning 28 in late September, Verstappen remains the youngest person on the list, a title he secured since his debut in 2022. Initially entering as the 500th person with a net worth slightly over £105 million, Verstappen has swiftly climbed the ranks, reaching the 428th spot a year later and then jumping up 106 places last year.
Forbes has ranked Verstappen as the world’s 25th highest-paid athlete this year, with earnings just shy of £59 million. Most of this income stems from his salary and winnings, with £4.5 million sourced from endorsements.
In contrast, Lewis Hamilton ranks higher at 22nd on the list, earning just above £60 million. Despite having lower salary and winnings, Hamilton’s endorsement deals of £15 million propel him ahead of Verstappen.
Lastly, back in January, the Daily Mail reported that Aston Martin proposed a massive £750 million deal to Verstappen to encompass the remainder of his career. Verstappen expressed astonishment at the offer, stating, “it’s a lot of money,” and acknowledging it was the first time he had encountered such an offer.
Verstappen has confirmed his commitment to Red Bull for the upcoming season, having signed a contract in 2022 that extends until 2028, with reports suggesting the deal is valued at around £40 million per season.
