“Ryan Garcia Questions Jake Paul’s Heavyweight Bout”

Ryan Garcia casts doubt on the likelihood of Jake Paul’s upcoming heavyweight fight against Anthony Joshua. The anticipated match, scheduled for December 19 in Miami, will consist of eight three-minute rounds with both fighters wearing 10oz gloves. Paul, who last fought in June with a decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, had to cancel a previous fight against Gervonta Davis due to legal issues faced by his opponent.

On the other hand, Joshua has been inactive since his defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024 and was planning a comeback before accepting the bout with Paul. Despite a recent press conference where they faced off, Garcia expressed skepticism about the fight, citing size discrepancies as a concern.

The clash between Joshua and Paul will be live-streamed on Netflix on December 19. The event, set to start at 11 pm local time in Miami, aims to cater to the American audience, potentially affecting the UK viewing time at around 4 am. The fight’s timing may vary depending on the undercard duration.

Paul, angered by Garcia’s comments, retaliated by questioning Garcia’s recent fights. He also tried to arrange a match with Garcia after his bout with Davis was canceled, but DAZN, the streaming service, refused to allow Garcia to switch platforms due to contractual obligations with Matchroom.

There are expectations that the fight between Joshua and Paul will be a significant event, with differing opinions on the potential outcomes from various parties involved.
