Scottie Scheffler has entered the $100 million earnings club alongside Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy after a commanding victory at The American Express to kick off his season. As the current world No.1, Scheffler has sent a strong message to the reigning Masters champion that he will pose a significant threat in the upcoming Majors.
Last year in January, Scheffler faced an injury setback when a wine glass he was using to shape ravioli broke in his hand during Christmas. However, he has made a remarkable comeback in 2026 with a stellar performance, finishing with a six-under 66 to secure a four-shot win in California, marking his 20th PGA Tour victory in the past four years.
With his latest triumph, Scheffler’s total on-course earnings have surpassed $100 million, joining the elite ranks of Woods and McIlroy who have also crossed the nine-figure mark in earnings on the PGA Tour. At 29 years old, Scheffler now stands alongside Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to achieve 20 PGA Tour titles and four majors before turning 30.
Reflecting on his achievement, Scheffler expressed his gratitude, stating, “Any time you can be mentioned with those guys, it means you’re on the right track.” His impressive performance since his first win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open includes surpassing McIlroy with 11 more victories and consistently finishing within the top ranks in recent stroke-play events.
Former world No.1 Jason Day praised Scheffler’s remarkable consistency, likening his performances to those of Tiger Woods. Despite his already impressive track record, Scheffler believes he can further improve, emphasizing his determination to build on his success and prepare for upcoming competitions, including the Masters starting on April 9.
Additionally, the spotlight shone on teenager Blades Brown during the event, who shared his awe at playing alongside Scheffler and witnessing his victory. Brown, 18, marveled at the experience, noting, “To play with Scottie Scheffler and see him win it, that was insane. I had to pinch myself a couple of times just to make sure this was real.”
