A tragic incident on the A19 has led to the loss of a second teenager’s life. The 19-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall Corsa involved in the collision on November 24 in Sunderland passed away on Saturday. A 17-year-old female passenger also lost her life in the same crash.
The collision involving the dark yellow vehicle occurred just after 11 pm between the B1404 at Seaham and the A690 Herrington Interchange. The Corsa veered off the carriageway and crashed for reasons that are still under investigation.
Both the male driver and female passenger suffered serious injuries in the collision. Despite medical efforts, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward with information regarding the incident.
