A spacious five-bedroom property located in a sought-after area of London has been listed for £2.2 million, catching the attention of a YouTuber who was shocked by its condition. David Burnip, as part of his investigation into the 2025 housing market, visited the house in Pimlico, just a mile away from Buckingham Palace, only to find it in a deplorable state left behind by the previous occupants.
Expressing his dismay, David commented on the property’s uncleanliness and damage, questioning why it was not cleaned before being put up for sale. The house, originally intended to be divided into three separate flats, was left unfinished, evident from the collapsed ceiling in one of the bathrooms and scattered carpet tacks in another room.
Despite some areas being deemed “nice” and spacious, the overall state of the property led David to describe it as a mess, considering its high price tag. Just before the auction, the property was withdrawn from sale, possibly indicating a realization by the seller that a thorough cleaning could fetch a higher price.
During his property exploration in London, David also inspected a house in Lewisham priced at £500,000. The exterior hinted at structural issues, but the interior shocked him with dead pigeons littering some rooms and a pervasive smell of dampness.
David criticized the condition of the Lewisham property, labeling it criminal to market such a house in that state. With ceilings collapsing and floors waterlogged, the nine-bedroom property presented a hazardous environment, leading David to compare the experience to a horror movie. Surprisingly, the Lewisham property surpassed its reserve price, selling for an astonishing £661,000 at auction.
