“Sky Introduces Device Priority for Enhanced Internet Control”

Sky has introduced a new feature called Device Priority for its internet users in the UK. This upgrade allows customers to have more control over the internet speeds allocated to each of their devices. For instance, if you are about to join an important video call but other devices at home are consuming bandwidth, Device Priority lets you prioritize speeds for your essential tasks while still maintaining functionality for other devices.

According to Sky, this feature enhances the user experience by optimizing WiFi performance for various household devices such as wearable tech, home appliances, gaming, and streaming. The prioritized device will receive the best performance while other devices remain active.

With the increasing number of connected devices in homes, the Device Priority feature aims to alleviate congestion and potential conflicts over bandwidth. Sky’s research indicates that households now have an average of 21 web-connected devices, highlighting the need for better WiFi management.

Sky’s Device Priority is included in the WiFi Max service at no additional cost. Users can access this feature through the MySky App, allowing them to prioritize a device for up to 8 hours. This enhancement complements other features of the Sky Broadband service, including WiFi guarantee, advanced security, parental controls, engineer visits, and Sky Mobile integration.

For users without the Device Priority feature, it can be added for an extra £4 per month. This update is designed to streamline internet usage in multi-device households, providing a smoother online experience for all users.
