A father who was a bodybuilder and married tragically passed away in a fatal skydiving accident when he lost control and crashed to the ground at high speed. Marcelo Levy Garisio Sartori, aged 46, was observed performing a low-altitude maneuver before the impact in Boituva, São Paulo, on August 29. Despite being swiftly taken to the hospital, he could not be saved.
The reason behind the experienced skydiver’s sudden change in direction remains unknown. Speculation suggests that he may have lost hold of one of the parachute handles, leaving his family without a husband and father.
Marcelo, a lawyer and managing partner in a São Paulo law firm, had recently celebrated his birthday. With over 2,000 jumps and a Category D license, he was a seasoned thrill-seeker. His friend Douglas Gomes described him as a passionate skydiver who engaged in numerous competitions. Known for his love of adrenaline and freedom, Marcelo was a supportive friend through all circumstances. Tributes have flooded in for the enthusiastic bodybuilder, survived by his wife and daughter.
Authorities have confirmed that Marcelo’s equipment was functioning correctly and are conducting an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, a separate tragedy unfolded as an 11-year-old girl was discovered unresponsive in a swimming pool while on vacation in Spain.
Francesca Mae Blease, from Crewe, Cheshire, was found in a hotel pool in Fuerteventura on August 7. She was transferred to a hospital in Gran Canaria but sadly passed away on August 8 when life support was withdrawn. The coroner has indicated that an inquest will be held on January 27 due to the unnatural cause of her death.
In a similar heartbreaking incident, a five-year-old British girl lost her life after being found unconscious in a swimming pool during a family trip. Despite efforts at the Maternal and Child University Hospital of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, the child experienced irreversible brain damage following the pool incident. The girl’s identity has not been disclosed.
