“Steven Gerrard Being Eyed as Liverpool’s Next Head Coach”

Emile Heskey previously mentioned that Steven Gerrard would need more experience before taking on the role of Liverpool manager. Gerrard, the former iconic Reds captain, is now being considered as a potential successor to Arne Slot as head coach following Liverpool’s recent struggles under the Dutchman.

Having been away from coaching since January when he departed Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq, Gerrard has been viewed as an outsider for the position after Liverpool’s poor run, which saw them lose six out of their last seven matches.

Gerrard, who had a stint as Aston Villa head coach, is a highly regarded figure at Anfield due to his legendary status as a player. Heskey, speaking via BetBrain, emphasized that Gerrard would need more experience before taking on the significant responsibilities of managing a top club like Liverpool.

While Gerrard has been linked with various coaching positions, Heskey pointed out that Gerrard could be a desirable option for teams abroad as well. Despite turning down a return to Rangers earlier, where he led them to a Scottish Premiership title in 2021, Gerrard’s coaching future remains uncertain.

Jurgen Klopp, Slot’s predecessor, had previously expressed his belief in Gerrard’s potential to succeed him at Liverpool, highlighting the strong support Gerrard and Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish have provided him. Klopp mentioned that if he were to be replaced, Gerrard would likely be the preferred choice to take over.
