“Telecom Giants Raise Monthly Bills Amidst Price Hikes”

Hyperoptic has recently announced an increase in monthly bills for its broadband customers. Starting from April 2026, customers will experience a £4 per month rise, up from the previous increase of £3. This change applies to both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previous statements against mid-contract price hikes, Hyperoptic has joined several major telecom companies in implementing larger price adjustments in recent times.

In contrast, Sky Mobile has revealed a £1.50 monthly increase for most customers effective from February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract customers in over seven years. O2 has also informed its mobile and SIM-only contract customers of a £2.50 monthly bill rise from April 2026, surpassing the initially planned £1.80 rise.

For Three mobile customers with data plans of 4GB or less, a £1.80 monthly increase will take effect in April 2026, representing an 80p jump from the current £1 rise. Customers with plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will face a £1.90 increase, while those with over 100GB will see a £2.30 rise each month. Additionally, Three broadband subscribers will experience a £3.50 monthly increase from April 2026.

Vodafone mobile customers signing up after November 12 can expect a £2.50 monthly bill rise, or a £1.50 increase for Basics SIM plans. Similarly, Vodafone broadband users will be subjected to a £3.50 monthly price hike. Existing customers under contract with Vodafone or Three will continue to pay their agreed-upon rates.

If you find yourself out of contract, it’s advisable to compare prices online to potentially save on your mobile and broadband expenses. Assess your actual usage in terms of minutes, texts, or broadband speed to avoid overpaying for unused services. Consider switching to a new provider or negotiating with your current one for better deals. Additionally, individuals receiving benefits should explore eligibility for discounted social tariffs to reduce costs.
