“Thomson Unveils TiVo-Powered TVs with Freely Access”

Sky Glass, an internet-connected screen, has been upgraded to offer improved visuals, powerful sound from built-in speakers, and a quick setup process. Freely, a new competitor to Sky Glass, provides live and on-demand content on smart TVs for free. Manufacturers like Hisense, Panasonic, and Bush are integrating Freely into their new models.

Thomson, a French company, is introducing new TVs in the UK with full Freely access and powered by TiVo, known for its advanced content discovery features. TiVo enables users to easily find and enjoy their favorite movies, shows, sports, and videos across various platforms.

With TiVo, users can search for content using voice commands and customize their viewing preferences. Additionally, TiVo allows users to filter out content from specific streaming services. Thomson’s new TVs with Freely access are set to launch in the UK in various sizes.

TiVo may soon introduce a Freely-powered set-top box in the UK, expanding access to older TVs and those not currently compatible with Freely. This development poses a direct competition to Sky Stream, which transforms older TVs into smart content hubs. Further details on TiVo’s plans are yet to be revealed.
