A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life after a fall from playground equipment at Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford. The boy, identified as Logan Carter, passed away on Friday following the incident.
His father, Rob, expressed his grief on Facebook, stating, “When I wake up on Friday, my little mate, I didn’t think that would be the last time I get to see you. My heart has been ripped in two… I will never forget you, my mate. Sleep tight up there, and I will see you one day at those gates. Love you so much.”
Rob also urged people to cherish their children every day, emphasizing the importance of expressing love as one never knows when they might be taken away.
The community responded with messages of support and condolences for the family. Well-wishers expressed their shock and sorrow, sending love and sympathy to the grieving family.
Authorities were alerted to the incident by the North West Ambulance Service around 6:11 pm on Friday. Police arrived at the scene to find Logan seriously injured after falling from the playground apparatus. Despite receiving medical attention from paramedics, Logan tragically succumbed to his injuries at the site.
Specialist officers were providing support to Logan’s family during this challenging time. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover funeral expenses, with donations nearing £8,500 towards the £13,000 target. The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigation.
