Tyson Fury has dismissed the idea of facing Agit Kabayel and Joseph Parker as he readies himself for a comeback to the boxing ring. The 36-year-old heavyweight, who previously retired in January following defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, recently confirmed his return to the sport, targeting a ring return in the upcoming year.
Despite his enthusiasm to get back in action, Fury has made it clear that he will not be stepping into the ring this year. Speaking at BoxFest, Fury expressed his openness to offers but affirmed his focus on filming “At Home With The Furys! Season 2” for Netflix. Looking ahead to next year, Fury asserted his plans for a major comeback, emphasizing his belief in delivering remarkable performances despite his advancing age.
While Fury remains open to potential challenges, he has emphatically stated his refusal to square off against Kabayel or Parker, citing his respect for both fighters and their capabilities. Instead, Fury has identified Usyk and Anthony Joshua as potential opponents for his return to the ring, expressing his eagerness for those matchups.
Although Fury has ruled out a clash with Parker, the possibility of a match between Parker and Usyk looms large, potentially impacting Fury’s plans for a showdown with Usyk. Promoter Frank Warren has hinted at a potential title defense for Usyk against Parker, setting the stage for an exciting matchup in the heavyweight division.
Fury recently announced that his third encounter with Usyk is scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium, underscoring his determination to settle the score with the Ukrainian. Reflecting on his previous bouts with Usyk, Fury remains steadfast in his belief that he deserved to win the rematch, expressing his desire for a fair fight and result in future matchups.
