Met Office Chief Forecaster Neil Armstrong cautioned about the cold Arctic air affecting the UK, resulting in wintry conditions. Snow and ice are expected hazards, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, with areas like Northern Ireland, southwest Wales, southwest England, northeast England, and northern Scotland likely to be impacted by wintry showers. While not all regions will have snow accumulation, some areas could see 2-5 cm of snow, with higher ground in Scotland possibly getting 15-20 cm and up to 15-25 cm over the North York Moors and Yorkshire Wolds.
