Authorities in the UK are once again cautioning the public against trusting financial services offered by a British influencer on TikTok, known as HSTikkyTokky. This individual, likened to a low-budget version of Andrew Tate, claims to possess the ability to enhance personal or business finances through social media.
Harrison Sullivan, operating under the alias HSTikkyTokky, has a controversial past, having recently evaded imprisonment after a high-speed supercar crash in broad daylight and subsequently fleeing the UK for over a year. Despite his online promises, the Financial Conduct Authority, the regulatory body for financial services in the UK, has issued warnings that Sullivan’s activities are unauthorized and potentially deceptive.
The Financial Conduct Authority has explicitly stated that individuals and firms must be authorized by them to provide financial services in the UK, a status which Sullivan lacks. Identified social media accounts linked to HSTikkyTokky, who is also an amateur boxer, include TikTok handle @hsboxertokky and various Instagram and Telegram accounts.
Moreover, the Financial Conduct Authority emphasizes the risks associated with engaging with unauthorized firms, such as the lack of access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaints and exclusion from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection in case of financial losses due to business closure.
Sullivan, a resident of Brentwood, Essex, has admitted to dangerous driving and driving without insurance. Witnesses reported his involvement in a high-speed crash, with data from the McLaren car indicating he was speeding at 71mph in a 40mph zone. Sullivan surrendered himself to authorities following the incident.
In a revealing interview, Sullivan previously admitted to holding discriminatory views, including racism, misogyny, and homophobia. His recent court appearance shed light on the reckless nature of his driving behavior, underscoring the risks associated with his financial advice and services.
