“Ukrainian Assault Engulfs Putin’s Laser Plane in Fire”

A severe Ukrainian attack targeted a significant Russian aircraft production facility overnight, resulting in a fire engulfing one of Vladimir Putin’s laser-equipped planes. The assault was so intense that the plant appeared to glow as if from a nuclear blast. Preliminary information indicates that a bulb-nosed A-60 aircraft caught fire during the strike in Taganrog, which coincided with both sides launching extensive attacks while crucial US-led discussions on a peace agreement were ongoing in Abu Dhabi.

NATO responded by deploying four warplanes after Russian drones attacked Ukraine’s Odesa region, violating Romanian airspace. In a distressing turn of events, Russia conducted new attacks on civilians in Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals, including an elderly woman. Residents in the affected areas cried out for help as a Shahed drone strike set a tower block ablaze, causing destruction to two power plants that supplied hot water to homes. Additionally, disturbing footage indicated a malfunctioning Russian air defense missile striking a residential building in Novorossiysk, leading to casualties amid Ukrainian strikes in the region.

These destructive incidents unfolded as efforts for peace accelerated, with the arrival of US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll in Abu Dhabi for discussions with the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Lt-Gen Kyrylo Budanov, and a Russian delegation to address military aspects of the peace plan. Budanov, a wanted figure in Russia, was linked to the Ukrainian strike on Taganrog-Yuzhny airfield, targeting the Beriev aircraft manufacturing plant where an A-60 aircraft, designed for laser weaponry, was reportedly burning. Unconfirmed reports suggested that a hangar housing a Tu-95MS strategic bomber undergoing a £36 million upgrade was hit, a critical component of Vladimir Putin’s nuclear strike capabilities.

Witnesses described a scene of devastation, with a glow akin to a nuclear explosion at the site. The attack resulted in three deaths and eleven injuries in Taganrog, with Ukrainian strike drones causing damage to residential buildings. The governor characterized the assault as one of the most intense and prolonged during the ongoing conflict. In Novorossiysk, footage depicted a glowing object crashing into a building and exploding, believed to be a misfired Russian air defense missile. Separate footage showed a drone, possibly disabled by electronic warfare technology, colliding with a residential tower and sparking a fire that left four individuals injured.

Further attacks were recorded in Gelendzhik and Tuapse, alongside strikes on hot water and power plants in Kyiv, leading to power outages and transport disruptions. These actions were perceived as attempts to pressure Ukraine into accepting an unfavorable peace agreement. Russian officials criticized proposed alterations to the initial US draft as unproductive, while reports emerged of drones breaching NATO airspace in Romania and Moldova.

The Romanian air force confirmed the scrambling of NATO fighters to monitor the situation, highlighting the potential security risks posed by the incursions. The air force asserted its right to intercept Russian drones within its airspace for protection.
