“Urgent Recall: Amazon Ceiling Fan Poses Electric Shock Hazard”

An urgent recall has been issued for a ceiling fan sold on Amazon due to concerns about potential electric shock hazards. Consumers are advised against using the A-Faction856 Ceiling Fan, manufactured in China, with border authorities rejecting further shipments. The specific product codes for this item are FBA15JYLVF9HU000040 and X0027BDFWD.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has highlighted the elevated risk of electric shock posed by this product, attributed to inadequate insulation and insufficient clearance between high and low voltage circuits. This deficiency could lead to exposed live wires over time, increasing the likelihood of electric shock for users. The product fails to meet the standards set by the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Consumers who have purchased this ceiling fan are urged to contact Amazon to explore refund options. This recall follows a recent safety alert concerning versions of Citroen C3 and DS3 vehicles.

The warning specifically pertains to second-generation C3 and first-generation DS3 models produced between 2009 and 2016, along with DS3 Automobile DS3s manufactured from 2016 to 2019. These vehicles are equipped with potentially faulty Takata airbag systems.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified via mail. To verify if their vehicle is subject to the recall, individuals can use the VIN check tool on Citroen’s website. Stellantis, the parent company of Citroen, has confirmed no reported incidents of faults in the UK.

In a separate recall, nearly 60,000 air fryers in the Republic of Ireland are being recalled due to fire safety concerns. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has advised consumers to discontinue use of specific models of Tower air fryers following the discovery of a manufacturing flaw.
