WhatsApp users are in for a treat as the messaging app rolls out a range of new features aimed at enhancing the user experience. Meta-owned WhatsApp has recently introduced updates to emojis, stickers, calls, and Channels, all designed to elevate the messaging platform.
The latest feature drop includes animated emojis that add a playful touch to chats with interactive animations. Additionally, users can now create animated stickers from their favorite videos, taking sticker customization to a new level. Social stickers featuring avatars are now available for one-to-one chats, exclusively shareable with contacts who have avatars saved.
Creating group chats has been made easier with a new feature that allows users to start a group without immediately adding members. Users can initiate the group with a name and later invite others directly or through a shareable link. Moreover, when sending multiple photos and videos simultaneously, users can now add a shared caption and receive reactions or replies to the entire collection or individual items.
On the calling front, WhatsApp has introduced a dedicated tab for making new calls, sharing call links, and managing call history in one convenient location. The update also includes new filters and effects, offering users six new filters and effects for video calls and photos.
The platform’s “Other Updates” section now houses Status and Channels separately from personal chats. Channel admins can now enhance polls by adding photos to each poll option. Users can now star favorite updates on Channels for easy access. Furthermore, mentioning groups in Status updates is now possible, allowing all group members to view and reshare the status in the group chat.
