A police investigation revealed a horrifying incident where a woman was forcibly stripped naked in front of children, shot, and left inside a car that was then set on fire. An arrest has been made in connection with the death of Thi Kim Tran, 45, who was reportedly abducted from her home in Bankstown, Sydney, and subsequently killed after her work shift at a nail salon on April 17.
The suspect, Anh Nguyen, 29, was apprehended and charged with murder. Authorities indicated that Tran and her children may have been targeted due to her partner’s ties to an Organised Criminal Network in Victoria. The tragic event is believed to have stemmed from a dispute over stolen drugs, as per police reports.
According to statements from law enforcement, Nguyen allegedly facilitated the attackers by coordinating the abduction and assault at Tran’s residence. It was reported that he had prior connections to Tran’s husband and was associated with a drug syndicate. The incident has shocked the community, as such extreme acts are considered exceptionally rare in New South Wales.
During a court appearance at Bankstown Local Court, Nguyen did not seek bail and is scheduled to appear at Burwood Local Court on November 12. The investigation continues to unfold as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this brutal crime.
