“YouTuber Vows Never to Return to Benidorm After Backlash”

A man shared his experience of facing backlash for his negative opinions about Benidorm and vowed never to return to the popular holiday spot.

The British YouTuber, known as Just Deano, triggered strong reactions from devoted Benidorm fans when he labeled the sunny destination as a “crime-ridden hellhole.” In a viral video, Deano recounted encountering scams, drugs, fights, pickpockets, and other unsettling incidents in what he dubbed the ‘New York of the Mediterranean’.

Recalling his disturbing experiences, Deano cautioned against solo trips to Benidorm, emphasizing his own vulnerability despite his imposing stature. He described being targeted in a violent incident where he was struck from behind by unknown assailants who then mocked him.

However, not everyone sympathized with Deano’s account, as he faced severe criticism and was heavily criticized for his outspoken views on Benidorm. In response to the backlash, Deano acknowledged the divided opinions, with a significant portion defending Benidorm while others agreed with his perspective.

Addressing accusations of dishonesty, Deano defended his stance, asserting that his observations were based on personal encounters and not fabricated for attention or views. He highlighted the subjective nature of experiences, acknowledging differing viewpoints among visitors. Despite facing personal attacks, Deano received support from some followers who commended his honesty and encouraged respectful disagreement.

Earlier this year, the Policia Nacional reported multiple arrests in Benidorm related to criminal activities, advising visitors to remain vigilant and secure personal belongings to avoid theft incidents. They also recommended immediate police notification in case of a robbery and emphasized the importance of noting device serial numbers for recovery purposes.
