Russia has issued a veiled warning to the UK, outlining conditions that could lead Vladimir Putin to engage in conflict with Europe.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commended Donald Trump for his efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine but criticized Britain and EU nations for undermining the peace proposal put forth by Washington and Moscow.
Lavrov stated that Russia does not intend to initiate a conflict with Europe but will retaliate against any hostile actions, such as European military presence in Ukraine and seizure of Russian assets.
The recent incident involving a 28-year-old British paratrooper who lost his life during a defensive capability test in Ukraine was confirmed by the UK Ministry of Defence. The soldier, Lance Corporal George Hooley, was present with Ukrainian military partners during the tragic accident.
While acknowledging the presence of a limited number of British military personnel in Ukraine primarily for diplomatic security and support to Ukrainian armed forces, the deployment of paratroopers had not been previously disclosed by the government.
