“Elderly Woman Dies in Fatal Scotland Collision”

An 87-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a collision that left three others seriously injured and hospitalized.

The incident occurred on Friday evening around 6:55 pm on the A706 near Carriber Mill, close to Linlithgow, Scotland. It involved a red Honda Civic and a silver Volkswagen T-Roc. Emergency responders arrived at the scene where the elderly woman, a passenger in the Volkswagen, was pronounced dead.

Those injured included a 21-year-old man driving the Honda, a 64-year-old male driving the Volkswagen, and a 63-year-old woman who was also a passenger in the Volkswagen. They were swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment of their severe injuries.

Following the collision, the road remained closed for eight hours to facilitate investigative procedures before reopening at approximately 2 am on Saturday as reported by the Daily Record.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville urged anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. Particularly, he sought to speak with the driver of a Range Rover who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

Sgt Sommerville expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family and friends, emphasizing the critical nature of the investigation. He encouraged drivers present during the crash to contact authorities for any valuable information, including the driver of the Range Rover.

Furthermore, individuals possessing dash-cam footage were urged to review it for any relevant details that could aid in the investigation. Anyone with pertinent information was advised to reach out to Police Scotland by dialing 101 and quoting incident number 2701 of December 5, 2025.

In a separate incident, a woman had to be extricated from a vehicle and promptly taken to the hospital after a serious crash in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, on Thursday night. The collision, described as a major road traffic incident, involved two cars at the junction of Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue around 8:30 pm. Four individuals sustained injuries and received treatment at the scene.
