A traveler was apprehended following an incident that led to a flight diversion to an airport in Ireland today. Upon landing in Cork, authorities were present on the tarmac to swiftly remove a man in his 30s from the aircraft. The flight had taken off from Faro, Portugal, in the morning and touched down in Cork shortly after 1 pm.
The aircraft remained on the tarmac for about 90 minutes before resuming its journey to Dublin around 2:30 pm, as reported by Cork Beo. A Garda spokesperson stated that a man in his 30s was detained under the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 2022, for an onboard incident that prompted the diversion to Cork Airport on the afternoon of December 15, 2025. The individual is currently held at a Garda station in Co. Cork, with ongoing investigations.
A representative from Cork Airport confirmed that Ryanair FR7031, initially bound for Dublin from Faro, was redirected to Cork earlier in the day, landing at 13:04. The airline informed The Mirror that the crew requested police assistance when a passenger exhibited disruptive behavior onboard the flight from Faro to Dublin on December 15. Law enforcement intervened upon the aircraft’s arrival, leading to the removal of the unruly passenger.
