A mother of three, Chloe Mowday, 31, from Perth, Australia, is currently hospitalized on life support after undergoing what was intended to be routine cosmetic surgery in Vietnam. Chloe had planned to have a rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty in Da Nang, Vietnam, as part of a family holiday across Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, complications arose after the surgeries, leading to her being rushed to intensive care where she briefly died before being placed in a coma.
Chloe’s brother, Rod, revealed that Chloe’s health deteriorated rapidly shortly after returning to her hotel following the procedures. Despite initially feeling unwell and experiencing pain beyond the surgical sites, she took prescribed medication and rested. However, her condition worsened, leading to respiratory failure and organ shutdown within a few hours.
Rod initiated a fundraising campaign to support Chloe’s medical expenses and repatriation to Australia. The family has already raised AUD$23,000 (£11,431) towards these costs. Doctors have suggested that Chloe’s chances of recovery are higher if she receives treatment in Australia, prompting the family to arrange an air ambulance for her swift return.
With ongoing medical challenges, the family aims to raise over AUD$100,000 (£49,701) to cover the substantial costs associated with medical repatriation. Rod remains optimistic about Chloe’s recovery, stating that doctors are actively addressing an infection in her body and that she is showing signs of improvement each day.
