“Corgis Converge in Vilnius for International Event”

Approximately 150 corgis gathered for an international event in Vilnius, Lithuania, showcasing more than just their speed. The event featured a costume parade, a “smartest nose” challenge, and a competition for the loudest bark.

Participants from nine countries, including the United States and Britain, where the breed is famously associated with Queen Elizabeth II, joined the fifth Corgi Race Vilnius in Vingis Park. The organizer, Edvinas Miskas, highlighted the growth of the event from 40 corgis in the first year to 150 from various countries in the latest edition.

The main running event saw 94 dogs competing in qualifiers, semifinals, and the final, with the American corgi GG, also known as Gustave the Girl Dog, emerging as the winner. Mr. Corgington from the U.S. came in a close second, while Lithuania’s former champion, Moka, secured the third position.

Aside from racing, the event featured a costume parade with creative outfits, a “smartest nose” challenge where Latvian corgis Tora and Rusty shared the victory, and a competition to find the corgi with the loudest bark, won by Mr. Corgington.

Veteran competitors and first-timers added to the diversity of the event, with standout performances in various challenges. The event celebrated the unique talents of corgis and their dedicated owners, making it a fun and exciting gathering for all involved.
