Malehya Brooks-Murray recently shared her thoughts on the disappearance of her children, Jack and Lilly Sullivan, who went missing over 15 months ago from Lansdowne, N.S. Brooks-Murray explained that she has been waiting anxiously, marking special occasions with unopened cards and gifts, hoping for the return of her children.
The mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the four-year-old Jack and six-year-old Lilly have left many questions unanswered. Despite the lack of concrete leads or suspects, the RCMP’s Major Crime unit continues to investigate the case. Brooks-Murray, previously criticized for maintaining silence, clarified in an exclusive interview with CBC News and The Globe and Mail that her quietness was at the authorities’ behest.
Expressing her innocence and desperation for her children’s safe return, Brooks-Murray revealed that she is no longer willing to stay silent. She emphasized that her compliance with the RCMP’s instructions was to aid the investigation and protect its integrity. Despite facing immense trauma, she is adamant about not being involved in her children’s disappearance and firmly believes they are still alive.
Recounting the day her children went missing, Brooks-Murray recalled seeing Lilly in the morning of May 2, 2025, before discovering their absence and initiating a large-scale search effort with the help of authorities. Subsequent events led to her parting ways with her then-partner, Daniel Martell, and leaving their shared home.
While the investigation continues, Brooks-Murray has undergone polygraph tests and extensive questioning, reiterating her innocence and unwavering love for her missing children. She expressed frustration at the slow progress of the case and the lack of updates from the RCMP, emphasizing her need for closure and answers.
Despite the challenges, Brooks-Murray remains hopeful, engaging in activities to honor her children’s memory and actively participating in efforts to locate missing persons. She shared her plans to pursue a career in addictions counseling and continues to hold onto the belief that Jack and Lilly will one day return home.
